Attention DLES Families- For the next 4 weeks leading up to the Winter Break, we will be having Wellness Wednesdays at DLES! We are inviting all staff and students to participate by wearing wellness clothing, sneakers, and participating in brief wellness activities on the morning announcements. We are challenging staff members to participate and have a conversation with students about simple health and wellness things that we can do to take care of ourselves everyday!

Square 1 Art Fundraiser packets with FREE stickers went home with students who drew a piece of art and participated in the fundraiser. The packets went home on Monday, November 19th. Please ask your student about this. Orders will be accepted online until Friday, November 30th. Each student has a unique code in their packet with their artwork. Please place all orders no later than November 30th. All orders will be delivered to school by December 14th just in time for the holidays! Please help DLES with this fundraiser. Please join us for Family Night at Chick Fil A tonight, 11/12, beginning at 4:00 PM. The Chick Fil A Restaurant that we've partnered with is located at 7055 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover, MD 21076. A portion of the evenings sales will be contributed back to DLES to support our students during the 2018 - 2019 school year. Make sure to tell the chashier you are there for DLES' Spirit Night before you order. Purchases between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM will qualify. We hope to see you there!

American Education Week begins on Monday, November 12th. We invite you to DLES to visit your students classroom during the school day between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. American Education Week, Nov. 12-16, is an opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education.

Important Information Ducketts Lane 5th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! We need your help to make our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive the most successful one yet! Please bring in items between Monday, November 5th-and Friday, November 16th. There will be boxes in each grade level to place the items. The grade that brings in the most items will be rewarded with extra recess! K , 1st, & 2nd: Canned goods/non-perishables (peanut butter, jelly, cereal, rice, pasta, etc.) 3rd, 4th & 5th: Cold weather items (Gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, warm socks, etc.) Don’t forget to join us on Saturday, November 17th for our Pancake Breakfast & Canned Food Drive!
