MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION

Dear Families,

The 2019-2020 school year is underway and our faculty and staff have been taking time to get to know our students, building a strong sense of community within every classroom and setting up routines to ensure that each student has an opportunity to thrive at DLES. We want to thank those families that were able to attend our Back to School event this past Monday and Wednesday. The evenings provided a wonderful opportunity to connect and get information about what to expect throughout the school year.

Drop off for students begins at 8:35 am. Students are not monitored by school staff prior to this time.  Please help us with safe car loop procedures.  Below are a few reminders:

  • Drive slowly in the car loop.

  • Place your car tag on your dashboard so that it can viewed as you pull in. (Car tags are issued from the front office.)

  • Pull all the way up to the cross walk when dropping off or picking up your child.

  • If possible, have your child exit and/or enter on the passenger side of your vehicle.

  • Stay in your car while a staff member assists you and your student with exit and entry.

  • Please wait in line and do not drive around cars to exit the line.  This process takes only a few minutes and waiting in line will ensure safe traffic patterns.

Thank you in advance for your help in making our arrival and dismissal procedures safe for all.

Finally, please take a moment to view all of the benefits of our FARMs program. Even if your child does not require free or reduced meal prices, there are a number of benefits available for families. Completed applications can ultimately support all of our students through Title I funding and resources.

We are looking forward to a great year at DLES as we continue to get to know each of our students as learners.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs. Balter and Mrs. Madden

Update your child's emergency contact information in HCPSS Connect!

Your Family file needs to be updated every school year.

Having this information is critical to us as soon as the first day of school.

HCPSS uses Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to HCPSS Connect and selecting the Family File tab and then clicking on Family File.  Once logged in, parents/guardians will be asked to provide or update the following information:

  • Student information
  • Parent/guardian contact
  • Emergency contacts
  • Medical information
  • Arrival/dismissal procedures
  • Media release (photo approval)
  • Data confidentiality
  • PTA/PTSA directory

Changes of address may not be made through Family File.  If you have recently moved, please contact DLES at 410-313-5050 as soon as possible as we need to update your address in our files as well.  You will need to complete an Address Change Form and provide a copy of your new lease or deed.

Parents who have forgotten their login credentials for Family File may click the “Forgot Password” link on the sign in page. If you need additional assistance, please fill out this Connect Help FormPlease complete the Family File through HCPSS Connect as soon as possible!
