Young Authors' Contest
Tue, 11/05/2019 - 2:45pmThe State of Maryland Literacy Association is proud to sponsor the Young Authors' Contest for 2019-2020! Students in grades 1-5 are eligible to participate by writing a poem and/or short story.
- All entries must be original work
- All entries must use no smaller than 12 point font in Times New Roman
- Short story entry may range from 100-400 words (grades 1-2) and 300-800 words (grades 3-5)
- Poem entry will consist of a single poem, any style, from a minimum of 25 words to no more than 150 words (all grade levels)
- Entries must not include graphics
- Each entry must include a completed cover sheet signed by the author's parent
- Be sure to save your typed file. Winners will be asked to email their entry to the chairperson.
Students who are interested in participating must submit their entries by Friday, December 6th. The YAC Cover sheet has been posted on Ducketts Lane's website or you can access it through the following attachment. Any questions can be directed to our Reading Support Teacher, Joanna Kasda.
